Tata Steel has managed Jamshedpur’s civic infrastructure for decades, initially through its Town Services Department, later from 2004 as JUSCO (Jamshedpur Utilities and Services Company), and from 2019, as Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited (Tata Steel UISL)
Our Founder, Jamsetji Tata had wanted this city to have "wide streets planted with shady trees, every other of a quick-growing variety” and Tata Steel UISL is privileged to have contributed a little towards realizing this thought. This is a one-of-its-kind utility company in the country that provides the services as an integrated entity. Tata Steel UISL differs from municipal corporations even in its range of services, looking after water supply, power distribution, civil maintenance, and provision of infrastructure for over 20,000 employee houses, engineering services, city road network, solid waste management, public health services and horticulture services. The company strives to constantly improve Quality of Life of the citizens of Jamshedpur.
